GCyber is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Architect/Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert for a critical program supporting the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Software Yard – ASE – Architecture and Modeling Branch. The DevSecOps Architect will be responsible for establishing, sustaining, and automating the foundational technical baseline and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) domain architectures throughout the solution lifecycle.
In this role you will serve as a technical subject matter expert, providing the architectural context that guides all software development, delivery, and sustainment activities, ensuring all platforms and applications are built on a consistent, secure, and automated foundation.
This position is located in Kearneysville, WV, and will be a hybrid position (2-3 days/week onsite).

As the Senior DevSecOps Architect/Engineer, you will:
- Design, deploy, and manage continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and automated provisioning pipelines built on secure architecture models.
- Construct and maintain actionable MBSE domain architectures and integrated digital models to establish a definitive technical baseline.
- Integrate Zero Trust principles and cybersecurity requirements directly into the foundational design of all platform and domain architectures.
- Formalize technical standards and interoperability standards, ensuring full synchronization with overarching PEO C5I enterprise strategies and policies.
- Provide architectural guidance and reference models to development, integration, and product teams to ensure engineering remains traceable.
- Map and document complex service capabilities, architectural dependencies, and automated workflows across multiple technology domains.
- Drive the continuous evolution of the Software Yard's baseline by monitoring, evaluating, and recommending emerging technologies.
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards, government baselines, and DISA STIGs through automated security gating and vulnerability remediation.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security).
- 10+ years of experience, prior experience supporting USCG of DHS preferred
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining secure DevSecOps pipelines and automated software delivery frameworks.
- Proven experience creating and maintaining MBSE domain architectures, integrated digital models, or enterprise-level architecture blueprints.
- Comprehensive operational understanding of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles and integrating cybersecurity controls into foundational designs.
- Strong experience establishing engineering frameworks, technical standards, and software traceability practices across automated lifecycles.
- Proficiency in automating infrastructure, configuration management, and deployment gating within complex, multi-domain environments.
- Strong foundational understanding of diverse IT domains including enterprise virtualization, software engineering, cloud architecture, and network boundaries.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with PEO C5I enterprise strategies, architectural policies, and command structures.
- Relevant professional certifications highly preferred (e.g., DevSecOps certifications, AWS/Azure Certified Solutions Architect, or INCOSE ASEP/CSEP).
- Understanding containerization and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker) paired with automated vulnerability scanning tools.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, software-defined infrastructure, and secure hybrid-cloud environments.
